About The Owners

      

      Welcome to the Bait & Brew. We are located in beautiful downtown McQueeney on FM 725.   We are both long time residents of the Seguin/McQueeney area. Our families have been in or around the bar business since we were children. We have worked at The Texas Ice, a family owned bar in San Antonio,  for many years. In later years, Nancy Jo owned Nancy Jo’s Place in Canyon Lake Hills. She ran Nancy Jo’s for over 10 years.  Nancy Jo was President of the Volunteer Fire Department, where she was instrumental in improving most aspects of the department to better serve the community. The Canyon Lake business and property owners counted on her guidance and hard work ethics to guarantee the success of many fund raising events.

       Together we purchased the Bait & Brew in June of 2004.  The Bait & Brew is a family owned and operated business, that we take pride in. You will always see one or both of us here taking care of business whenever you stop by.  Over the years  we have enlarged our bar area and added a kitchen (see our menu page). The Bait and Brew is considered the friendliest bar in the area by local customers and visitors alike. You will always be greeted with a smile and a heart felt welcome when you enter our establishment.

       Friday nights at the Bait and Brew are reserved for Karaoke with Dale as the KDJ.  We encourage everyone to pick a song and sing. We believe karaoke is about everyone having fun. We have over 10,000 songs to choose from so there is something for everyone.  Don’t be surprised if you stop by on other days and  find Dale working the karaoke system  for the entertainment of our customers.

         We are a proud  sponsor of live music with bands such as: The Haslett Brothers, The Blooz Burnerz, Mesquite Ramblers,  Los Gallos, Union Street, Frontline and Deep Water to name a few.  There have also been musicians like Rusty Cofield, Johnny Santos and Ted Lacey stop by and entertain unannounced just for the love of the music. If you have a musical talent come by and share it with us. Live bands play on selected Saturday nights for our customers enjoyment.  There is never a cover charge so come on in and join the fun (see our calendar for dates).

                In October 2008, with some help from our friends, we built a big deck in the back of the bar for live music outside when the weather permits.  Keep an eye on our Special Events page for upcoming activities.
